Hi, I'm Nick Weimer.

I'm a software developer and data engineer. Thanks for visiting my page.

About Me

I’m passionate about people, innovation, and overcoming failure. I’m part of an industry that I’ve only scratched the surface of and I look forward to learning more and working hard each day. When I’m not coding, I find inspiration through running, basketball, and playing the piano.

Data Engineering: Spark, Airflow, dbt

Frontend: React, React Redux, JavaScript/CSS/HTML

Backend: Flask, Django, Node/ExpressJs, ElasticSearch

Architecture: cdk, Lambda, Docker, AWS Elastic Beanstalk/S3/CloudFront/EC2

WEB DESIGN

Latest project includes a platform for users to input their contact information to link with companies and friends. Project uses Python's Django, React/Redux, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.

PERSONAL PROJECTS

Spaceship shooting game similar to Galaga, developed with Python's PyGame package. Includes levels, bosses, and a storyline. Also, explore the spread of COVID-19 around the world through my public Tableau Dashboard.

PROGRAMMING BLOG

Blog posts providing practical knowledge for developers across a range of CS topics.

Single-Page Apps

My SPA experience is through React. Since SPA's don't update the entire page but only required content, they significantly improve a website's speed and provide seemless transitions.

APIs

Experienced developer of REST APIs using Node.js and Django Rest Framework.

Cloud Architecture

Experience building applications on AWS (cdk, MWAA, Lambda, Elastic Beanstalk, S3). Set up Airflow and dbt for our team.

This 6-week project was built using React, Flask, and Tensorflow,
and deployed to production on AWS.

ClassifEyeAnimals will test your ability to correctly identify the
animal class using just a picture of the animal’s eye.
Choose from 1 of the 7 distinct buckets.
You have two sets of hints: Full Image Hints and Prediction Hints.
Use them wisely, because hints are limited.
You start with 3 Full Image Hints and 3 Prediction
Hints, and are rewarded a bonus of each every 3 consecutive correct
answers. Good luck!
